Wedding #2

This weekend I created a wedding and grooms cake for one of my old friends, friends wedding in Galveston. The bride wanted something very simple for her cake and for the grooms cake she wanted it to have a hunting/fishing and outdoorsy feel. She sent me a few pictures of what she had in mind and this is what I created.

PS: for some reason the wedding cakes looks lopsided in the photograph but it really isn't. I had already put the topper on and it was a little bit heavier on one side than the other.

Baby Ella

This baby shower cake was created for my boss/friend Tiffany and her upcoming arrival Ella. This is a two tier cake with one tier being banana and the other tier white cake. After seeing how quick the banana tier went I guess I should have made the larger tier the banana instead of white. Ellas nursery will be decorated in lime green and pink. We cant wait to meet the new bundle of joy.

Lanes 40th Birthday

I created this cake for Susan's husbands 40th birthday. She asked me to recreate his grooms cake since at their wedding he never got to eat any of it. This cake was a devils food chocolate cake with chocolate icing and chocolate dipped strawberries.

Olives 1st Birthday

My bestfriends niece celebrated her 1st birthday today. I was honored when they asked me if i would create her birthday cake. The theme for her birthday was DIVA, anything else would have just been absurd since she is a dive of course. This is a strawberry cake with hot pink icing, purple poka dots and crowns around the sides.

80's Theme Cake

This is a cake I did for one of my friends aunts birthday. She was having an 80's theme birthday and wanted a cake to match. I was a little stumped in the beginning and then I came across all these really neat 80's inspired things at hobby lobby. She also wanted records to be coming out of the top of the cake. The birthday girl loves music so I had to include that as well, so one tier was all about music and one was all about the 80's.

All About Sunflowers

This cake is the most recent one. My uncle is getting married in Guadalajara and I wanted for them to have a traditional American wedding cake since they will not have one at their ceremony in Guadalajara. Gloria's favorite flower is the sunflower and their invitations were black and white so I took those two colors and combined them with my own little twist.

Grooms Cake

This goes with the wedding cake I did. This was double layer chocolate cake on chocolate ganache icing topped with chocolate dipped strawberries, talk about chocolate overload!!!

Wedding

This was my very first wedding cake. I did this for a friend of mine who got married in July. She said she wanted red dots and roses. I kept it very simple but elegant. This was a three layer white cake with the largest layer having raspberry filling.

Poka Dots

Ethans birthday was full of bright colors. His cake was a white cake with buttercream icing, nothing too crazy just dotted up with all the colors.

Cars

Hayden loves the movie cars so of course his birthday cake would reflect them as well. This was my first themed cake but I love how it turned out.

Graduation Cake

This cake is a 1/2 sheet cake with butter cream icing. This was done for my chiropractor's son for his graduation. It is very simple but that is what they wanted.

Baby Shower Cake

This is a cake I did for on of my residents. It is a double layer marble cake with buttercream icing.

Welcome

Well I have decided after a lot of deliberation to go ahead and start a blog for my up and coming cake business. Over the last year I have been decorating cakes for my friends and family and now my little business has grown. I will be posting pictures of the cakes I do as well as putting my pricing up on the blog so everyone has and idea of what I charge. I look forward to hearing everyone feed back and please feel free to pass my blog along to anyone you think would find it interesting or would like to book a cake.
